(a sudden, life-threatening condition where the heart can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs, resulting in a buildup of fluid in the lungs and other parts of the body)

- Do you have acute infections?
(rapid onset diseases that usually resolve on their own or with treatment within a few weeks)

- Do you have a medical condition which may worsen through the application of cold?
(for example multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal cord injury, clotting abnormalities, peptic ulcer)

- Have you ever had deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolus, or any symptoms of deep vein thrombosis?

- Do you have episodes of pulmonary embolism?
(occurs when a blood clot, often originating in the legs (a deep vein thrombosis or DVT), dislodges and travels to the lungs, blocking an artery)

- Do you have any open or existing wounds or lesions?

- Do you have a tumour near the site of application?

- Do you have a bone fracture or dislocation near the site of application?

- Do you have a skin condition?
(for example dermatitis, vein ligation, gangrene, skin graft in the intended therapy area)

- Are you pregnant?

- Have you suffered or are you suffering back pain?
